HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

meeting Friday 11/3/06 room 339 (celebrating halloween a little bit late)
what we'll most likely be doing: (each member doesn't have to all of the below)
1) draw our own characters of fan charries in halloween costumes
2) write halloween fanfics/stories
3) bring in a pic that you want to draw/recreate, that's some how related to halloween.
this is the easiest we can help you start learning how to draw and it's good practice for those trying to improve in drawing. pros: eye-ing, measuring with your pencil, proportioning, viewing things in a new perspective, imagine a 3Dfigure rather than a 2Dfigure, etc. cons: the pics that you draw that are copies of already produced art are not considered to be your art since it's not your pose. (don't get confused. although fanart is drawings of already produced characters, fanart is still considered your art as long as you draw the characters in your own pose.) however, there is still nothing wrong with this exercise as it is good practice.

Bleh, then I really should start Cuz I do a lot of copying.

copying is how i learned how to draw. but i didn't grasp the concept of "3D-ness" until my dad taught me how to draw a plate.

whee! can't wait until the meeting though . dunno if i can find a good picture to copy..

ZOMG! I just saw the same pose in 15 different anime! They should all sue each other!

It's not exactly that bad if you copied a pose if you managed to draw your character over it, since your character looks different and has different clothing. Part of poses is that some of them could be an action or movement in still life, meaning you'll have to represent that with clothing and hair movement, as well as some movement lines. Both of which are pretty hard to do. Or maybe it's just me >_> cuz I have serious problems with dynamic poses and movements.

Also, for extra practice, you could draw the same pose, only from another angle.

Btw, sorry, but I'm not going to be there this friday, unless we have a lab and I don't spill chemicals on my hands. I will have my halloween pic submitted friday, before 10th period to Helen. If any of you guys wanna see it ask her :X
