PostSubject: Stuy Concert   Stuy Concert EmptyFri Jan 12, 2007 7:52 pm

Ahh. The Stuy Concert should be going on right now as I type.
Such a shame I couldn't go see it. Had I a cellphone, I couldve called home and tell my family I would be coming home late. I dont want to worry my family. Last time, they sorta freaked out when I came home late from the Symposium wthout telling them. 2 hours late. huh

Sigh, maybe next year. Hope everybody did well in chorus and band!
Perhaps someone could tell me about it? Or if someone recorded it. That would be awesome.

it was alright i guess ^^ chamber choir could have been better but the audience seemed to like it so it's okay i guess xD i really miss the seniors in our chorus when i was a freshman. ahh they were so good.

here are some of the songs we sang (err but the songs in the links below are sung by other choruses ofcourse. i don't know if anyone in stuy recorded our performance. shrug)

Chamber Choir(or now known as Concert Choir) sang Salmo 150: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77Fqy2hU_bw
Concert Chorus sang Verdi -
Moon River: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSIH-n697U0
Chamber Choir and Concert Chorus combined sang Va, pensiero: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG93aYu7S-0

=)

String Orchestra was better than the Choruses! I don't know... I wasn't really paying attention to the whole thing, and kinda fell asleep during some parts through it I was up since 10:30 pm the day before, with no sleep!), but I liked the String Orchestra performance with the electric guitar. Kind of eye-opening in comparison to the rest of the concert.

Yeah, the choruses need some work =\. I can't compare the Stuy Concerts to any other ones (I've never been to a real one) but there was something about the chorus that didn't sound right. I don't know, maybe no one was enthusiastic enough. Although I shouldn't be speaking, I can't even recognize a tone, much less control it and increase it by a note or two at a time. Bah, if I could only learn how to sing slowly... too bad I failed even the A Cappella tryouts D:

wait, so there's a chmaber choir & a concert chorus? Is there a difference between the two?

For Moon River, was it a solo with accompaniment? If so, who was the solo?
I have Va pensiero on my ipod nano. =) coincidence? thats because my dad owns alot of music CDs. They have mostly choir music.

etesh: well these past 2 years, we didn't have a lot of seniors(at least, there weren't many soprano seniors in chamber choir). a lot of the REALLY good ones graduated. how sad. shrug. singing is still fun =] and choristers didn't get to hear the orchestra/guitar =( we were back in the music room warming up and rehearsing

lawrence: moon river was sung by the whole concert chorus, not solo
umm chamber choir is supposedly smaller, but it grew a lot over the years.

Too bad you guys didn't get to see the guitar performance D:. Twas my favorite! Yeah singing is fun >_>, for those that can! I'll just stick to my lip syncing =X.

Saaaay: does Ms. Hall do any more modern songs (like the choruses from some musicals) and the Disney songs? I know they're overrated... but they're so great!

Cough, can any of you do Tong Hua with the piano accompaniment? >_>
