| Ohoho, my level has gone up by .2. Hoora~ Anyway, my new original art thread for the new school year. Senioritis... Link to old thread: Click MeUpdate: Mar. 3, 08Moo, more Gaia commission things. OCs of people. Much more fun than drawing avatars. My hand hurts after finishing that full body one. Guh...Off to bed I go. Update: Feb. 23, 08Gah, it's been like a month since I've seriously gone here. First pic: Just a little sketch thing I kinda like that I put up as thanks for 500 hits on my deviantart. I've been frequenting there a bit, but not much. Second pic: A colored version of my last update. Nothing much. Kinda lame, but I kinda like the bg...a bit. Update: Jan. 22, 08Manga-style Anuris. Looks a bit younger and more innocent than she usually should be. But eh. I wanted to try out the whole hard black-and-white manga-style shading/drawing/coloring thing. Random thing. Gaia avatar again. A sign for my art shop there. Update: Dec. 3, 07I just realized I never posted this up here before. I put it up on my deviantart though, but anyway, here I shall post as well. It's supposed to Aoji...I think. It's when his hair gets / was long (I still need to decide). And he has this weird fluffy hair ornament thingy. Pencil doodle colored in OC. Update: Nov. 21, 07Doodle in Government class (On the Constitutional Amendments mwahaha...), scanned, redrawn on Photoshop, colored on Open Canvas. Random halo-wing thing, but it reminded me of the Celestial Beings in Okami. The rest is just random....person....stuff. Walking a teal breeze... Update: Oct. 26, 07Random cat person. Drawn and colored in Photoshop. I'm starting to get used to it; but I'll still like OpenCanvas once in a while. Update: Oct. 21, 07It's 2 AM. Once again...a late night excursion with my tablet. Not sure if this counts as original or not: it's a Gaia Online commission...*gasp* yea, I'm on Gaia. Shame on me. I actually like it this time, even if it is a chibi...ish. Update: Oct. 14, 07I wonder why I keep drawing late at night (like past-midnight late). Interestingly enough, it's my post-midnight doodles that I really like the best. Is it Aoji? Well...his hair is kinda different...fluffier...and...he's got cat ears...Neko-ji!! At least he looks like the proper age now...I hope. And he's still got his trademark-parasitic-scarf thing...((all in my head)) Aoji again. He looks a bit young here though...he's supposed to be in early 20's ish.... Black hair, grey eyes, dark-ish outfit...can control wind. Me and my silly middle school stories. Maybe I'll try and create my old manga idea again... Aoji's not even the main character...but I like him. Update: Oct. 13, 07This is what happens when I draw after midnight while listening to Bump of Chicken instead of doing college apps... Meet Aoji, a guy I created back in junior high. Meet Anuris, another original character I dreamt up back in junior high. Anu-Aoji! *smush* If these two look familiar, its because I drew them in another couple picture somewhere. Probably in my old original art thread, or in old scraps. And why the character for "color"? I got tired of writing out my name/signature, and needed something short and easy...and I like the way the character looks. Update: Sep. 22, 07I actually spent time on this one. Why? Because it's my very first character in a cool pose that I actually like! And yes, the color scheme was inspired by...*drum roll* Okami!! Fandom is still there, yes. But he's MY character! *Myee* His name shall be Makera. Like..."Makerarenai!" (I can't lose!) It was what I wrote in my notes-doodle...Eheh... With my chinese name in the background. Speaking of the background, I was playing around with Photoshop, and I finally figured out how to order layers! Slow, yes, I know, but still. Now making pretty bgs without affecting the main pic is easy! Pretty much. To tell the truth, this was actually a doodle during my English class yesterday, but I liked it so much, I decided to scan it, retrace it on Photoshop, and color it using both Photoshop and Open Canvas. Tablets work wonders...

| Ooaa~ Thank you so very much Helen! Those are some awfully helpful tips and notes...and constructive criticism overall. I'll try to fix it up one day. If not, I'll at least keep from making the same mistakes next time. Thanks for the compliments, Nancy! Let's both keep at it, yes? | |

| I like these new chibi ones. I find the "love me or else" expression on Anuris hilarious on the third one. Everybody has their own original characters, huh? *Mind wanders off into the endless realm of imagination* Edit- Wow I'm slow...I just realized these "tablets" were those wireless electronic pencils that come with a pad. So this is how all that cool Oekaki and some Photoshop stuff are created? I thought it was all done with a mouse... | |

| Hehe, thanks Lawrence. I really like Anuris myself. Well...these original characters of mine are really old though. I haven't thought up anything else since then. Hehe, it's ok. I thought I was slow too, when I realized what tablets were for the first time. Course, now I'm thinking...if I try REALLY hard...then maybe its possible with a mouse too. Just...hard... | Gaia was to me an on/off switch constantly. Sometimes its boring, sometimes its ok, but I always get depressed when I see all the awesome artists there sometimes. Yeah, I know I messed up on the pants because I totally suck at shading in folds and wrinkles and shmuck. And other places too, probably. But thanks! | |

| Something seems different about the new 10-26 one. I think it's because of the shape of the sleeve or the length of the arms. The right eye seems a bit strange, is it because it's a little too far to the right? I'm just guessing. I like the necklace and vest. | |

| Yeah, I realized the sleeves and arm lengths were weird, but I was too lazy to fix it as I was drawing. It was just a random doodle thing anyway. Yeah, the eye does seem a bit wonky-looking too. I'll admit, I don't like this one too much, but I figured, eh, well, it's all colored and stuff. And I was bored...silly me.
Call it a practice picture for me practicing with Photoshop blurring tools and making shiny hair...and stuff.
Thanks for the comments though! | |

| Lol I just noticed that you're Level 3.7 now! Cool xD I really like the nice simplicity of the new pic, even though I wish you'd make the characters a bit happier. Otherwise, it's so cute! Also ,does the kanji + no mean "one of the wind" or something... ? I can't wait to see what u have plan for the contest this year | |

| Meh, level 3.7 just means I'm slightly more inclined to take harsher criticism, that's all. But not by much...*cringe-sweat* Thank you; the characters I draw tend to reflect how I'm feeling at the time. If I'm feeling okay, or happy-ish, then they will too, and same for feeling like shmuck or sad or air-headed, or something. It says "Kaze no", which is like " _____ of the wind" or something like that. I haven't decided what he is, but I know it has to do something with the wind, so I just left the subject blank. yeah, I got lazy. *cough* I can't wait to see your contest stuff too! Bet you'll win another prize~ Good luck on it! | |
