don't be blinded by the girlish-ness. Runar is a BOY. >_>;; there's nothing wrong with a guy wearing pink. and uh.. I just felt like drawing a skirt for him.... it actually turned out more feminine than i had imagined. lols. hush. one day, i will refine the lineart and recolor it (when i have time). i might change the skirt to pants too. some of my friends fell into a state of trauma from the shock of looking at this. hahaha.
-this was REALLY rushed and done roughly on sunday. sigh. i need to find more time to draw. life is crazy lately.
from looking at the other submissions, i'm know i'm not going to win, but it was still fun trying it out and worthwhile. i kind of like the pose i used

tools: OpenCanvas 3.05e (trial), tablet. hm..first time using oC. i usually use PS.

um i started around end of 8th grade but i didn't get that into it until the beginning of freshman yr. and yea i can try and help. just bring some of your old drawings and i might be able to give you some pointers. (though i still have like a kazillion things to work on)
yea the 2nd one is a guy. the third one is uh....guy/girl. duno. i usually draw girls more than guys. and most of the times when i do draw guys, they turn out looking like eh..a feminine guy. haha ^^; >.>

lols thankies. heh the hair is one of the best/most fun parts to draw! still trying to make it better though x_x;

Heh, yeah. In her drawings, the hair especially stand out. Also, you might confuse the character's gender, if you only look at the head. Sry, Helen, had to get that out.

lols yea. i'm working on the hair! (me trying me trying ><;; ) argg i need more time to drawwww!! yes, gender has always been an issue xP my guys turn out girly looking and my girls can look uh..guy-ie if i draw them flat. shrug, i usually decide the gender after i draw the head(when i decide what body to give it..haha)

thanx! nya =3 and um, hatching isn't really hard. just keep a steady hand and make quick strokes. it's just hard knowing where to put them ^^;

and uh people, make your own art threads and post up your stuff!! (this is a forum afterall...u making me feel lonely ;__; ) i just started mine to be an icebreaker of some sort. anyways, can't wait to see your art!!! whee.

So you added two new pics? Both of them are uh...interesting to look at.
For the first one, I can tell it's a male by looking at his face, his arms and legs. They're drawn stiffer and thicker compared to a female's slim, graceful body. HOWEVER! The clothes threw me off. The entire time I had to think: Why?!? No ne is ever going to see me dress like that! The skirt is pretty wide though. I don't know...When I look at it, it seems baggy and loose. Maybe it was your intention anyway.
Love the second picture~! Sweet magician clothes. If you read the writing its funny too. When I look at the face, I see a boy. When I look at what the kid is wearing, I think it's a girl. Not sure.
Great job overall. I know I'll never be able to draw like this. I'm probably the worst out of the entire club...

lolss. i know no one ever dresses like that..but then again, many anime outfits aren't meant for everyday people to wear. xP
i know what u mean about the "baggy"/"loose"-ness of the skirt. it needs to hug his hips more by the waist.
mmm second one is a girl, or at least i had planned for it to be a girl in the beginning, but it can pass as an anime boy too. ^^; u can decide for yourself. i'm fine with it either way.
ofcourse you can draw like this, if not better. and whos says ur the worst? be more confident with your work and just practice more. post up some of your stuff and let us see =]

Yeah, they are totally AWESOME! I could only dream of doing such advance crap Yeah, I agree with Lawrence said about the first picture. The lines seem a lot stiffer (I should know, I seriously have a body like a guy xD Im soooooooooo stiff! No flexiblity at all). I love the second pic, but for some strange reason I thought that it was Vivi, you know from Final Fantasy? xD

lols sure, pretend it's a towel. well his right hand for the foreground runar is kind of going 'into' the pic so his hand would look smaller, but perhaps i still should have made it a bit bigger. shrug. i didn't mean to make the dress so loose. oops. (and it's not gona fall off!! ew) and thankies. glad u like the halloween pic.

mms, i've never played FF and have only briefly watched FFAdventChildren, so i don't even know who vivi is x_x

humm, it's funny how the halloween pic (which was so much easier to do and took less time) came out looking better than runar. >_<;;

COMPLETELY UNRELATED: i finished this fanarty-thing like five minutes ago, but i dunno if it fits the definition of fanart because it's a vector- and that's basically hours of tracing over a picture. (so no original pose, etc.) i did make the bg myself though. and it looks ever so crappy.

^__^ i started drawing towards the end of 8th grade, but i didn't really get into it until mid-freshmsn yr-ish.
